Miami Dolphins Need Serious Help

Tuesday, January 4th, 2011

The Miami Dolphins need help. There needs to be a lot more change then just a player or two which is what the Dolphins decision makers thought when they brought in two major free agents for the 2010 season. Marshall and Dansby have been solid additions but the $100 million commitment didn’t put them even close to the top teams and somewhat handicaps them. So what needs to happen in order to take the next step in 2011.

It’s also going to take more then just player upgrades as I outline below for the multi-prong changes that need to occur to compete with the best teams.

The front office needs to change its attitude and tactics. I don’t doubt for a second that Jeff Ireland loves his job and works really hard to do the best he can but there have been too many wasted opportunities. Look at New England as an example: How many high priced free agents have they brought into the organization vs. the draft? They build thru the draft by cleverly acquiring draft picks better then any other team and fill in with veterans with low salaries that still have what it takes to compete.
When some of their stars get to making big demands for salary and the organization thinks it can get equal return it will trade those players for draft picks while they have value. New England’s 17th pick in this draft and the 3rd round pick are from Richard Seymore and Randy Moss.

If you look at many of our players that are making tremendous contributions for other teams there was value to be had for them if properly positioned. Matt Roth comes to mind. In addition you will find payers that are starting and contributing for many teams that we judged as not good enough. So New England is rebuilding this year with the youngest defense in the league and has 6 draft picks in this years draft compared to our two. How do you catch up when they are out maneuvering our front office? We simply have to do a better job of making our players have value and getting something for them. The evaluation of talent is also questionable. (Ex. Pat White, Turner, Murphy(cost 2 picks), and Henne). The first three rounds have to be players that will make the team. Take chances on 5 thru 7th round picks where they have an extreme gift but played in a sub conference. How does New England get Edelman in the 7th and we get White in the 2nd. Clearly they had similar skill sets but Edelman just beat us up in the 38 to 7 loss while White is out of the league.

Coaching and coaching philosophy has to improve and that means a few coaches have to go. The philosophy of playing not to lose and keep the game close so we can win it in the 4th quarter is problematic since many of the teams Miami has played has made sure to win it down the stretch and our quarterback in the last 2 years has not been able to do that for the most part.
With the scoring power of teams you have to try to win by as much as you can and that means Miami needs to get a high octane offense and not try to play to win it at the end of the game. That is a philosophy for teams that are playing against superior competition and hope to keep it close and have some luck at the end. That is not what this team needs to be. The high octane offense also makes it exciting for fans and puts them in the stands. Our 2 minute offense is a joke and an indication of the inability to be a fast paced strike fast team. This is not a new development. Since this management group came in we have been way below the average in long plays due to the conservative nature. Parcels philosophy has not won a championship in 30 years. It needs to change. When you lose to the Browns, Lions, and Bills in crunch time then those teams have past you. We lost 5 of 8 in the easiest part of our schedule.

The offensive coaching needs to change and that requires a change in the play calling and offensive sets. With talent equal it then becomes the scheme and execution of it that can make the difference. But, you have to create mismatches with your shifts and sets so that on occasion during the game you force a mistake by the other team. Is there anyone that doesn’t know what we are going to run for the most part? Lose the wildcat unless you have a gifted thrower that can also run. Brad Smith from the Jets would be a great pick up for this but I would prefer a regular set. I include the shotgun as a regular set as some of the highest scoring teams in the league use it and still run the ball really well. If your quarterback does not want to run it then you have the wrong quarterback. I think it is time for Henning to retire and get an aggressive coach on offense that will put pressure on the defense.

I am also disappointed in the offensive line play. There was a coaching change but maybe it wasn’t effective. He certainly is more polite but sometimes you need to quit hiring your friends and go find the guy producing the best offensive lineman and hire him. Based on the line evaluation and line play this position may need to go if he helped decide who to keep.

The quarterback coach did not get much improvement from that position. Not sure if it is the coach or the players but there needs to be a change at one or the other.

The special teams made some improvements but the coaching still allowed some long returns. Part of this is the instability on the special teams by Ireland and some is on the coach/philosophy.

The dolphins are about 8 players away still from having what they need.
The offensive line needs to be reworked for the 4th year in a row.

LT is set with Jake Long but a quality backup needs to be developed.
LG is a problem and the solution is not on the roster unless Feinga who is a bit large to be a pulling guard can do it. The other option is Nate Garner but he makes a great right tackle. They will have to find a free agent or draft a guard that can move.
Center. This is a problem and they should draft a solution and compete with Incognito for the position.
Right guard is a problem but I suggest getting Carey on a strict diet down to 320 and moving him to guard, the position he played in college. He can be a pro bowler there and create movement. His knees will continue to be a problem with his weight and it is tough for the tackles.
Right Tackle. If you move Carey to guard there are a few solutions. One is Nate Garner who is a powerful run blocker and solid pass blocker. If we can get a second round pick back we may be able to get a good right tackle in the draft.

Running Back. We need some speed and elusiveness. Someone that can take a screen and go the distance. No one fears our backs. Ronnie is too hesitant for this scheme. If the scheme changed where he was able to set up blockers then his dancing may be ok but for what we paid him he did not produce enough. He may be worth 3 million a year. He was not used enough in the passing game. He is capable of being split out and running slants and crossing routes. We will have to draft a breakaway back. Cobbs is a solid contributor but he is not the answer. We need two in the draft or 1 with a few undrafted free agents.

Wide receiver. Hartline is fast enough to get deep but we did not have the deep ball accuracy to ever hit him. Moore is fast enough to get deep. Pruit is fast enough to get deep. I think quick twitch players are better at receiving then big players. Separation is better then the big guy that says throw it into double coverage and I will go up and get it. Look at the Patriot receivers. They all have the fast moves to get separation. They don’t need to be big, just ferocious. Speed/quickness kills the linebackers. We need guys like Edelman or equal. Draft one and sign an undrafted free agent. Ginn was not the answer as he has the speed but not the quickness.

Quarterback. The pay of Henne cost us three games. He is an ok quarterback but needs several more years of practice to work out the kinks in his game. Thigpin had more long throws in the last part of the Patriot game then Henne has had for most of the year. Henne is afraid. Thigpin is not. We need a fearless leader. Put a line in front of a guy like Thigpin and he will win a lot of games. We still need a better quarterback. Who is available in the first round when we pick may determine if we trade down or not. Based on what Josh Freeman is doing I would take Newman if he was there at 15. Otherwise I would trade down and take a lineman like Pouncey late in the first or the Mississippi Tackle.

One defensewe need 2 3 things. A new linebacker with speed to replace Crowder. Edds may be it but would draft one if available in 4th or 5th. I actually thought Eric Walden should have been kept for inside backer. With the speed of receivers and running backs we need a very inside backer. If you go with size everywhere then you lose the coverage ability you need. We need some speed.

We need another quality corner back/kick returner. A fast guy that can cove the slot guys like Welker. Not big but tough and quick. (He has to be able to catch)

We need a new safety that can get the ball. It could be Jones, but I think he is better to replace Bell in the next year or so.

So my draft would look like this.

Top quarterback at 15(Newman) but more likely move down and take Pouncey or a tackle.
Second round a quarterback
3rd round a running back
4th round a tackle/center/guard depending on 1st round.
5th linebacker/cornerback/safety
6th receiver(speed/quick)
7th 2 picks speed returner/ running back/ receiver/ corner.

Free agency: An affordable but quality lineman if available.
A speed tight end if available.
A quality inside backer if available that can run and cover.
Possible pickups BRAD Smith of the Jets(3rd quarterback /returner) David Harris of the Jets(inside backer) Mankins of the Patriots(left guard) Bennet of the Cowboys(fast tight end)

There are no tight ends with any serious speed in the draft. We may have what we need just under utilized by our sets. Shuler and Epps are both fast.

If we split our tight ends out then Wallace or Marshall can play that spot and would be serious mismatches for any linebacker. Wallace is very fast and athletic. He could add 15 pounds and be a good receiving tight end with 4.4 speed. I would always run sets with only 1 back and 4 receivers. It does not matter if they are tight ends or not. If they are then you have a lot of flexibility. Run the shotgun with 4 receivers and a speed back that is strong enough to pick up the blitz or better yet flare out to the side the blitz is coming.

Closing due to Spammers

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

I opened this blog without any advertisements or anything else to promote products. I just have written about the things I care about or I feel can help some of my readers. Unfortunately the spammers have taken the fun out of this and having to read and get rid of approximately 500 emails every day takes way to much time. Even when I blacklist, the spammers find a way around it.

I will therefore I believe, be closing the site unless anyone has a suggestion. I will start to write for a few other websites such as www.statinrelief.com and www.herbalintegrity.com but having a blog with no strings attached will not be for me anymore.

Statin Relief by the way is a must take product for anyone you know taking a statin drug. It will reduce or elimnate the side effects of statin drugs within a few days of starting on it. It also replaces about 5 seperate products.

If you have enjoyed reading any of the articles or opinions then you can thank the relentless spammers for the upcoming closing of this site.

Sincerely Admin.

Plant Sterolins Are A Miraculous Discovery

Friday, September 10th, 2010

Plant sterolins and sterols are naturally occurring plant fats and glucosides (pre-sugar molecules). First discovered in Germany in the 1930’s, they were studied for their ability to lower cholesterol. However, their real value was not even touched on until much later.

In 1957, they were studied extensively by the pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly. However, they failed to produce an acceptable drug even though the plant sterolins and sterols produced favorable results in lowering cholesterol. The problem was that sterolins and sterols are difficult to separate from the plant fiber.

For about 20 years beginning in 1960, there were over 100 studies showing the immune boosting and cholesterol lowering powers of these micro-nutrients called plant sterolins. The first book was then published showing the studies and how effective these micro-nutrients were at blocking absorption of cholesterol.

Interest really started to peak beginning in the 1990’s when studies began showing how quickly the immune system could be boosted, and how the severity of numerous diseases was affected. In the mid-1990’s, immune enhancers started to show up in health food stores. Although chemically extracted and low level, these products still were effective in boosting the immune system. Typically, manufacturers used soy beans and pine tree oil extracts to produce these immune enhancers. There are actually many companies (most companies) that still use these today, even though more effective sprouts, and improved extraction methods, are now available.

The list of diseases that seem to respond to plant sterolins and sterols appears to be virtually endless. Laboratory tests have shown that these micro-nutrients kill 66% of breast cancer cells in just five days, with similar results for prostate cancer and colon cancer.

The higher level of plant sterolins and sterols in the newer products appears to be an effective fighter for auto-immune disease such as Lupus, MS, and chronic fatigue syndrome. They are under investigational study as it appears they are able to help reset the body’s own immune defense system.

Rheumatoid arthritis is another situation where plant sterolins and sterols may be beneficial as they can both reduce the inflammation and help reset the immune response.

There are studies underway around the world on the possible benefits for those with ulcers, fever, diabetes, bacterial infection, and the AIDS virus.

In 1997, a new method was discovered for extracting the plant sterolins and sterols. This new method uses hydroponics, resulting in an 80% to 90% active component, compared to the 5%to 10% active component in prior methods. This is truly a scientific breakthrough that will have far reaching effects as more companies pay the premium required for these micronutrients. That means a product made using this technology is 10 to 15 times stronger then what is currently on store shelves. This has not been available in commercial markets until the last several years.

With this new extraction method, there may very well be a miraculous discovery in how disease is treated. Therefore, if you want to find a perfectly safe way to lower your cholesterol, improve your immune system, improve your overall health, and decrease the severity of numerous diseases, then finding a plant sterolin/sterol product made with the latest technology should be high on your list of priorities.

One of the first firms to use this improved technology was Enerex Botanicals in Canada; they typically always use the manufacturing processes which provide the most effective products – regardless of cost. Unfortunately, most other companies appear to value their profits more than the health of their clients. As long as a product works, at least marginally, and they can line their pockets with inflated marketing, it is apparently viewed as an acceptable business practice to use the cheapest methods and ingredients.

Be sure you get the powerful benefits of this new technology; do not fall victim to neutraceutical scams. For example, if you decided to use the Enerex product, it is sold as Immune Rx with the Enerex label. Another company is also using the name Immune Rx, but it does not have the Enerex label. Be very careful when you select the source for the plant sterolins and sterol products.

With an impeccable safety record for nearly thirty years, this is one supplement you probably need. Our entire family and friends take the one made by Enerex. There are a few others of course that will be effective to one degree or another, but do not waste your money on a copycat unless you are 100% sure of how it is made.

A Letter To A Friend About Cancer

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Larry,

I understand how painful and exhausting chemotherapy and radiation have been in your fight against bone cancer. I also understand your decision to not have any more of the treatment. I also know how devastated your immune system is now and how you must attempt to rebuild it.

Now as a friend you are asking for advice and as I have mentioned many times before unless one is a medical doctor people are not allowed to give medical advice even if the advice is good for you. What I can do is tell you what I would do should I ever have cancer or even a precancerous growth again.

This would be my journey, briefly described, should I be in a situation like you.

If I had the financial means I would go out of this country for alternative treatment at one of the many institutions that practice whole body healing. If I was stuck here and could not get alternative care then I would have no choice but to undertake the task myself, or with the help of loved ones, which takes a lot of faith and effort. Attitude is going to play a key role in my ability to heal myself. Faith and spirituality have to be part of any healing protocol. All the work I will do on detoxing and nutrition will be wasted if I am not de-stressed and moving forward with positive thoughts.

Before any kind of healing can occur within my body I need to make sure that all my elimination channels are open and working properly. That includes the five main elimination channels: liver, lungs, colon, kidney, and skin. I would be unable to remove toxins or purify my blood and lymphatic system if I did not have an open channel of elimination.

The fastest way I know to open the colon as well as purge the liver and gall bladder is a high organic coffee enema. Most people want to drink their coffee but unfortunately the best use is as an enema. This also helps to stimulate the bile ducts. In addition I would use a great colon stimulating herbal formula. One that also addresses the liver and gall bladder would be helpful. It is important that I keep my colon open. A product called Clean and Repair is a good one but there are a few on the market.

In order to open and stimulate the kidney, liver, and lungs I will be drinking red clover tea and adding the following tinctures: milkthistle and dandelion root to repair and rebuild my liver, lobelia and fenugreek to dry excess mucous from my lungs and open my bronchial tubes, and goldenrod and horsetail to disinfect my kidney and bladder. These are all tinctures I should be able to find in a quality health food store.

To open the skin I would use a combination of techniques. Hydrotherapy is a great choice that I could do 2 or 3 times a day. 10 seconds of hot shower followed by 10 seconds of cold. Finish with cold. It is definitely a shocker to the system but a powerful way to stimulate the nervous system and skin. I will follow with a solution of Bragg’s Apple cider vinegar about 3 to 4 ounces in a gallon of distilled water. I will brush it lightly over my skin with a sponge as a stimulant. It will open the pores of the skin to breathe. Dry brushing each morning starting at the outermost extremities and working toward my heart to stimulate both my lymphatic and circulatory systems will prove very beneficial. A (radiant) sauna to raise my core temperature and open my skin pores will also be helpful. With cancer, as you may know, the body does not raise it’s temperature like a typical infection. Anything we can do to enhance that process will improve our immune system. A hot bath taking in stimulating tea with cayenne pepper will really raise my temperature. An
Epsom salt bath is also a powerful aid at opening the pores. We take in a lot of oxygen thru our skin when it is functioning properly. Cancer hates oxygen!

I will make sure my blood and lymphatic system are clean. A red clover tea 3 times a day with. Stillingia Root will do the trick. There is also a product made in Canada called Serrapeptase Rx that will clean all dead tissue out of the body and reduce any inflammation I am experiencing. I will use the 120,000 iu strength. It is the strongest version in the world currently available. There is also a blend of Fulvic and Humic acids that studies have shown tremendous results at pulling toxins out of the body. There are several products but the best one is Humifulvate Rx. In addition it will carry minerals and oxygen to every cell. Increasing oxygen is a critical factor for healing. It is one of the reasons I will do my best to exercise outside. The air inside is polluted, I need the sunshine, and I need to pull as much oxygen into my system as well as move fluids in my body. I will also use an Ozone machine which will force oygen into my system. This is not permitted in most states unless it is the privacy of my own home.

Now that my body is clean I have to nourish all the cells and rebuild my immune system. With cancer, especially if there is chemo or radiation involved, there is a severely depressed immune system. So that all my energy is used for healing I will only be taking in organic vegetable juice that I blend with super foods to make sure I get all the 46 essential nutrients into my system daily. Take in plenty of pure water.

My organic juice will include the following: carrots, beets, spinach, celery, cabbage, broccoli, 2 raw garlic gloves, as much cayenne pepper as I can tolerate along with a tablespoon of Greens Rx (a product made up in Canada). I will also add in liquid Super Phytoplankton Rx. I will use a pill crusher to take the Sona Rx vitamin or equivalent with my drink at least 3 times a day. It will be best to sip the juice all day but as soon as possible after juicing. Local fresh vegetables will be preferred as they will have a higher nutrient content. I will progress to solid vegetables as soon as I am cleansed and start to feel better. No processed foods of any kind will be part of my diet. It is also critical I take in the Essential Oils such as a quality Omega 3,6,9 product. Again my personal choice are the products made in Canada s as I feel they make a better product then I have found here in the states where every company seems to be more concerned about money and profit then quality of product. Plant sterols made without heat or solvents could prove very helpful. A product such as Immune Rx (by a company called Enerex) There is another brand but it is only 1/12 as powerful as that company. I would empty the capsules into my juice.

Once I feel my strength returning I will add fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouts, and legumes. I will not add any grains at this time or any animal protein or certainly not dairy. I will continue this program until my body has healed itself.

There are hundreds of people around the country that claim to have found 1 single item that is the cure for disease such as cancer. Don’t fall for all the self promoting gimmicks. As we have spoken before, only your own body is capable of healing itself. You just have to remove the toxins in it and give it the tools to work with: oxygen, water, nutrition, exercise, rest, and hope. The miracle is that the body knows what to do. We just give it to many challanges to overcome with our toxic world and our nutritionally dead foods.

All my best to you Larry. I look forward to seeing you soon. Let me know what you decide to do and how you are progressing.

Your friend,

Mark.

Can Vibrating Exercise Equipment Improve Your Health?

Monday, June 8th, 2009

With all the exercise equipment on the market promising unbelievable results, how do you know which ones really work? And can vibrating exercise equipment improve your health? The short answer is that almost all equipment will work to some degree providing you use them frequently and therein lies the problem. Almost all home equipment sold ends up being underutilized or thrown away. Either it requires too much effort or time. Or a previous injury, illness or condition makes it difficult. There are a host of reasons and excuses that we all have used. None of these reasons can prevent you from using vibrating exercise equipment.

The answer to the specific question, “Can vibrating exercise equipment improve your health”, the answer is, “yes”. It is important to realize that there are many different types and prices on vibration machines. Selecting the wrong one may not give you the safe exercise program you need or provide whole body vibration therapy for a specific injury or disease.

The two basic types of vibrating exercise equipment are the piston type and oscillating type. Before you consider which brand to purchase consider it wise to avoid the piston type. In this type of equipment the pistons vibrate vertically and can cause stress on the joints, ligaments and the spine. The oscillating system is safer, pain free, stress free and invigorating. This system can target specific body parts by changing the vibration plate exercises you are doing.

How does the equipment work? What kind of benefits can you expect? Who uses this equipment? These are all questions I get asked frequently. I will address the questions below

The movement during vibration plate exercises causes the brain to communicate messages to the muscles to contract to maintain equilibrium effectively creating a muscle toning and therapeutic isometric workout. As the muscles contract they are strengthening as well as causing an increase in the circulation which bring nutrients to the muscles. The itching sensation often felt on the equipment is an indication of the improved blood flow to the skin.

The benefits of this equipment are multiple and it explains why such a wide range of people use the equipment. Initially invented for extended space travel to prevent muscle atrophy, bone density loss, and blood clotting, the machine provides all those benefits and more. In addition the equipment has been proven to raise HGH levels for repairing injured body parts, raise serotonin (feel good hormone) and reduce cortisol (stress hormone). Many doctors consider stress one of the major causes of disease. Two of the most important benefits are the increase in blood circulation and the improved flow of the lymphatic system which is 3 times the size of the circulatory system. Those improvements alone can improve your health by removing toxins and delivering valuable nutrients to vital organs.

So who might use this equipment? Doctors, Medical Spas and Wellness Centers that stay on the lending trend for technology and innovation such as Dr. Chuck Woosley in Nashville, TN. ( He is the Tennessee Titans chiropractor) Sports teams such as the Tennessee Titans, Miami Heat, Pittsburgh Steelers, and numerous others utilize vibrating equipment for rehabilitation from injury and injury prevention. Individuals such as Madonna and Shaquille O’Neal use vibration equipment for personal training. So do senior centers and physical therapists as is the perfect machine for the elderly. It should be mandatory that every senior center in the country has one. Virtually everyone can benefit from this equipment.

I tried many models. The most expensive ones are best suited for commercial gyms and can cost upwards of $10,000. There are many inexpensive home models but the materials are inferior and the life expectancy for most is short. The one I have seen used in doctor’s offices, weight loss centers and other commercial venues is the K- 1 Platinum oscillating vibration system. The K-1 is also affordable. It retails for $3495 plus shipping. I did find a place that will not advertise them over the Internet but you can buy them through a medical distributor for $2995. If you push them you may be able to get free freight or a split on the freight charges. That is important as this equipment weighs about 100 pounds. It is by far the best pricing I have found.
